Bridgeclear 2008 Progress Report

Either our Stand-alone or CCTV-integrated systems are now installed into all the Translink double-decker fleet in Northern Ireland, and we have updated their database during the year.

We have supplied Bridgeclear CCTV-integrated systems to all the double deck buses and coaches being delivered to Bus Éireann; and for the new double deckers being delivered to Wilts and Dorset; and Epsom Coaches.

We are continuing to supply to Metrobus, through our distributor, Securitec UK Ltd, of Bristol.

We have also supplied the second batch of Stand-alone systems for the new double deck coaches being built by Alexander Dennis for GO Transit in Toronto.

Business Post continues to install our Stand-alone system on all new tractor units.

We continue our business arrangements with CEVA Logistics, and anticipate providing another batch of our demountable Stand-alone units which they use with trailers above 14-ft 9-ins (4.5 metres) height.  They have been users of our Bridgeclear systems since 2003.

Wincanton have purchased their first batch of Stand-alone systems. Two have had integrated vehicle tracking included, which enables the operator to trace the vehicle at any time, and to obtain detailed reports of their fleet performance

Two trials of our systems are in progress, one with a home delivery service, with a potential 1,000 vehicles; and the other with a bus operator who operates a fleet of 1,000 double deckers in the UK.

Some Insurance Companies specify our product for inclusion on their clients’ vehicles to the benefit of clients’ lower premiums and excesses.

We have integrated our GB and IRL low bridge database with ptv GmbH, a leading German mapping and navigation company.  We are therefore now able to offer our proven system to operate on a PDA, or on a desktop PC. Using this navigation system, a driver can forward plan a route that will ensure that is safe for a vehicle of his height and avoid reaching a low bridge.

We now offer low bridge warnings on satellite navigation products and we are working with companies who currently offer speed camera warnings.

We are working on the inclusion of narrow roads and weight restrictions into all our products.

Since our start-up in 1997, we have clearly seen an increased interest in road safety systems for heavy goods vehicles and buses, and as the market innovator on low bridge warning, we are able to offer products to meet all our customers’ needs.

Watch this space for new developments in 2009.
